Guess I should have paid more attention when I ordered him. Just go a 1 inch blue maxima clam. Do I dare put him in my 150 DT with my 6 inch melanarius wrasse? I researched and it seems they will go after the snails if present but what about him harassing the clam itself?

Mine destroyed a small 1-2in. maxima. He flipped it and ripped the foot out. It only took about 2 minutes. As long as the clam is in the 3-4in. or bigger range I haven't had a problem.

If you don't have a QT, I would put it in your DT in a plastic produce container until you can re-home it.

I have a 6” deresa and my melanarus has never touched it. And they typically won’t so I really wouldn’t worry about it

I have him in my overflow box for now so I guess he will stay for now. I'll rip that wrasse a new butt if he tries for the clam.
have tried to catch him earlier because he devastated a clean up crew. No luck cause he is smarter than I.

Gonna leave the little devil in the overflow for now.. Very cute little guy.. tks for the info
