I had what I thought was the perfect flow for my maxima and he is doing very well. I cleaned my pumps and now I am having a hard time adjusting flow so the mantle is not flapping and I can move him. I honestly can’t really find any info on how much flow a clam can handle. Is this to much?

Thanks, It definitely opens wide. It drives me crazy that it is tilting to the side though. It was leaning against a big rock so I moved the rock over to give it some more room and filled the hole with some rubble. here is a lights out shot. Holy Growth Batman! Now I know why my clac/alk consumption almost doubled.

My Maxima is on the bottom, front and center in my 120. I use 2 x Gyre 250's that max out at about 80%, 2 x Koralia 1500gph that alternate flow on the back sides angled up and inward, and a koralia 850gph that blows constantly in back of the rocks. I figure my total flow is about 80x. The clam seems to be doing very well.

I have kept many clams in more flow than that, so no worries. And look at the growth!

Looks great. Nice growth. One of my croceas mantles sides get almost verticle with flow at times and is just fine. Good luck. Nice clam.
