Maxima clam and hermit crab

I just bought a Maxima clam, and I acclimated it properly by following the guide. However, my hermit crabs started climbing on it. Should I remove the crab?

crab is likely removing crud off the clam. observe it and if the crab starts picking at the mantle, then remove.

I have over 100 hermit crabs and they do not bother my clams, They do pick stuff off the shell. If your clam gets sick or is dying the hermit crabs will clean it out pretty fast.

Hermits (any CUC for that matter) won't harm a healthy clam. If they swarm it and start picking at the flesh itself, the clam died and they're just doing their job.
