Maxima Clam - Ok on Glass?

I've got a 5" Maxima clam. I know they prefer to attack to rock, but I was hoping to get thoughts on if I set it on the glass, and put some sand around it to hold it up, would that be ok?

My Maxima has always been on glass,,, hates rock
Attached to a ceramic plate now and covered it with sand
