Hello all,
I am building an all-in-one frag tank from a low boy frag tank and black acrylic. I plan to partition off a filtration section which will be one foot by two feet. I have included a picture of what the filtration setup will look like and how water will flow through it. I had one question though... Does chaeto require rotation to grow successfully or does the way the water flow through it not matter? If it does better while spinning, how should I make the flow between chambers? The water enters through surface skimming teeth, then it flows down through the filter media and exits through a gap between the bottom of the tank and the baffle, into the refugium. How should I make the water flow to the next chamber full of live rock from the refugium so that it promotes rotation of the algae? Surface skimming teeth? A hole in the middle of the baffle? A gap between the bottom of the tank and the baffle again? Feel free to chime in about my filtration section in general... Btw, this will be an sps dominant frag system.
