Maxspect contact

Looks like there should be a class action lawsuit. This is a problem for many with the blue channel. The leds crack

I went to the Coralvue website when I had a problem with the Ethreal and everything worked out. I would say that they will probably make you pay to send it back and pay to have it repaired if that is the case I'm sure it would be cheaper to just buy a new one. Just give you a reason to buy another light with out the spouse getting mad

That is inaccurate or overstatement. I swapped out some piece of the power supply on mine.

Maxspect is handled by Coralvue, and they suck beyond belief. I had 2 razors on my 90 and within a year the blues and the power supply went out on one. I sent the one back to have the blues repaired and it took a week, luckily I had a comparable kessil I could use on that side of the tank. Then the power supply started crackling and popping the gfi. They would not send me a replacement and demanded I send the power supply back. Even though it had been only a couple of months since the blues repaired. Luckily I changed my entire lighting system and then sent the power supply back for repair. It's now been 3 weeks and still haven't received the power supply back. This is the 2nd product from Coralvue that has been a disappointment, the other was a reef octopus temp controller that lasted just past the warranty. I now boycott all Coralvue products.

I spent about $1k on 2 of the razors to have both have the same issue with blue leds cracking outside of warranty. I'm not the only one and it's more than just a coincidence as others have had the same issues.

Hmm... I've had my razor for over a year, and no issues. However, having them repaired and upgraded is fairly inexpensive, I had mine done and it was around $150 for the service which included new pads for all of them and new 120 degree reflectors. I have had nothing but excellent customer service from them, and at least they will service and repair things long after they've stopped selling them. Ping Jeremy, he should be on the vendor thread and see what they can do for you.

$150 service for a product just over a year old seems a bit ridiculous.

Sorry, I didn't clarify what I meant. The Razor is a 4' light, it was my option to get the light upgraded. The parts alone would have been $300 and this was basically a gift to existing razor owners that you can get your 16k led pads and 90 degree lenses upgraded to the new 15k pads and 120 degree reflectors. Maybe they had issues with the 16k pads? Anyways, it was a $100 nominal service fee and about $25 bucks for each of us to ship it to each other which I paid. I consider that a good deal, and they didn't have to do that for their customers, so I am pleased with the result.

I've had the light for almost a year, and the previous owner may have owned it for a year or two, there wasn't anything wrong with the light, I just wanted to get the updated pads and reflectors.

I also upgraded my reef octopus 150-int skimmer to the varios-2 pump and they accidentily sent the wrong adapter; I emailed them pictures and they sent the right part overnight. They've been good to me, that's all I can point out, sorry if they haven't been as helpful in your experience.

Hope that clarifies.
