I was cleaning my gyre pump today (about 6 months old), and this little plastic piece that covers the screws on the back fell off. I was being gentle cleaning it, so surprised it came off. It looks like it's there to protect the aquarium glass from getting scratched. Fortunately it kind of sticks back on, but obviously not very robustly.

Is this going to cause me any issues with the screws rusting or anything?

Maxspect gyre..... Biggest point of sale of a pump made today!

Mine lasted all of 2 years before the motor block died. I never ran it past 60% in all of it's life too.

I would be worried about the screws rusting.

Yikes. Anyone reseal this thing? I suppose I could dry it out and attempt that. IIRC stainless steel is only good for so long under water. It needs to breathe too.
