This is a Brand New XF-230 that I received this week (7/2/18) and put in my tank for 8hrs. I like it and I was going to replace my MP40QD with it but it's not as quiet. Shame, because I like what you can do with this pump. I paid $289.95 from BRS.

I'm selling it for $270 Shipped Conus. PayPal only please. If you really need a pic I will send you one by message or email but it's basically BNIB.

FWIW these pumps quiet down significantly after they break in a bit. I was not happy with the noise when I first bought one, but I only hear it now when I am right next to the tank.

Let it run and break in a couple days. The ceramic bushing will seat and then it’s VERY quiet.

Same with my XF250. Even when I remove and clean it and reassemble it squeals in reverse for about a day then just fine again.

+1 with responses. I have 2 in a custom 65g. I had very slight noise but only for a few hours. They are dead silent and I cannot hear them at all.

Thanks for the info guys. Maybe I’ll give it a second chance.

Awesome.

You could just run it in a bucket of rodi fresh in case you were not satisfied and it would still be clean. ;)
