Maxspect Gyre

I've got a brace of the mid-sized X50 in my 220 - aimed from the side-panels toward the surface, they move sand pretty briskly at 50%! They're in forward/reverse mode, but at different timings, so that the flow varies throughout the day, and isn't static in one pattern for more than a minute or so at any time.

I've had no troubles with the MaxSpect Gyres, but had poor results with the Chinese knock-off version.

I am running two of the XF-150s off the new XF-250 controller in my 125 - and they will be moving to my 240 when I set it up. I really like OTC (Oceanic Tide Cycle) mode. Power heads are super quiet.

You are using XF-150 on the 125? At what % are you using them?

How do you like it because Maxpect recommends me the XF-250?

Thanks in advance...

I have the opposite experience.....they ran great for about 8 months, then the motors of both died. I was able to get one replaced under warranty....the other had already expired. Not sure what happened...they were cleaned regularly....ran flawlessly until they stopped working. When they are working they are great though.....tons of flow throughout the entire tank. I switched to Neptune Wavs which I am much happier with.

I have two XF-250's running an alternate gyre in a 120g @ 30%. I have a great gentle back and forth flow with random downcurrent across the middle as the two currents switch. They are quiet and I've had no issues in the first six months of use.

They really difficult and cumbersome to clean....
What time settings do you have set up?
Min max ramp up and down etc.

I’m really struggling to get a gentle back and forth in my 150g with 2 250’s.

In my case I only have one at the moment and in the other side I have a Jebao RW-15. I use the Gyre at OGC mode with 70% ramping up and 30% down and the RW-15 on W1 mode.

I really love it.

i have two 230's and 2 150's in my 180

| _ _ | that is the layout i use, where the bottom is the back glass, i have lots of flow and I enjoy watching the gyres do their thing to detritus and how the fish swim in them.
