Maxspect Gyre

I have an Icecap 1K for my Nuvo 20 and is currently running on 30% in random mode and 20% reverse at night. Anything over 30% will give my tank a sandstorm. I get moderate flow on the top and get heavy flow on the bottom to where I have to readjust the sand once a week. Highly recomemded. Also can't go wrong for $130.

I have a Maxspect 150 on my RSR 450 for the past two years. It produces great flow and has worked flawlessly. Every 3-6 months I soak it in vinegar/hot water for an hour to clean it. It should produce more than enough flow for your tank

I have 2- 230 Maxspect Gyres on my 48" long 90 gal mixed reef. These gyres can move some water but if you don't want your fish pressed up to the glass just take it down to some of the lower settings. I have them set to just 10% at night and only a ramp up maximum of 50% during the day cycle. My LPS are healthy and happy with full PE at most times. The hammers and Frogspawn get nice back and forth flow on either end of the tank. I really like my maxspect. The newer model controller is apparently easier to work with than the old, but like another comment I have to get out my book OR go to youtube to make changes because I cannot remember the steps right off the top of my head, but could figure it out with tinkering.

I'll never buy another maxspect Gyre. Only one side works and that's after I spent money buying all new parts including the motor.

That sucks. I am sorry to hear that. Did you contact customer service?

No. They can't do anything about it except give me a new one which I'm pretty sure they won't do. It's not broken; the parts just don't line up right. I probably spent 40 hours trying to fix the dang thing. It would work one day and then it won't work the next. Back and forth with it. Drove me batty so I gave up. Never buy another one.
