I have a 120 gal tank with a maxspect razor x r5 200w fixture, I currently have it on the soft/lps program as it's a lps tank. I have a syna-g module on order as trying to adjust it is a pain. What type of settings, white and blues, do you all suggest to make it pop and allow the frags to grow. Chalices, favias, and acans r going in the tank. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have the razorX 300watt with the SYNA-G.

Once you setup the SYNA-G, you will go into setup.

First you will choose the spectrum. I believe you can choose between 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20K.

That gives you the color that YOU like to see.

Then you get more preset programs.

I personally run the mixed reef.

Then you can set a gazillion time points easily to ramp up and down, moonlighting, etc.

I run 14K as I don’t like looking at blues day and night.

You can program it to have heavy blues at a certain time for viewing every day if you like.

Or, I just open the iPad and move a slider and BAM! All the blue I want, whenever I want it.

Oh, where are you in GA? I work in Pooler.

Well, that’s a bit of a drive.

Was hoping you were closer so I could help out if needed.
Lol, was mainly wondering is their such thing as to much blue, not enough white and such for the health of the frags, the fixture being mounted under a canopy makes it a pain to program without the syna-g controller

I purchased the seneye.

It’s pretty well documented as far as the spectrum needed for growth of various corals.

I’m doing softies and LPS.

The seneye measures PAR and shows the spectrum.

You need to know both IMO.

I have found that using the pre programmed soft/lps once you get the SYNA-G, gives you the exact spectrum you need.

I can only assume that’s true for all the other pre programmed options.

I was looking at getting the seneye, but having already spent a small fortune on this tank I'm putting it off til black Friday sale

Do we all forget about Skype or Video Messaging? You don't have to guess or worry about umderstnding someones directions. Just go live and talk it out.
Best of luck.

How are you liking this light. I just got a rsx100 for my nuvo 20. Gonna go sps dominate and would love feedback. Have you done any par tests?

I haven't done any par readings on it, but I'm about to find out how sps likes it because my tank will be a mixed reef starting next Saturday, LOL!!! Actually starting to change my light program as I type this message, starting to raise my white lighting.

If you can get a lux meter, set the intensity of the light at the top of the water to about 30-36000 lux.
Base a 12 hour day with a strait ramp up to a six hour peak.
You may have to add intensity to the peak if it’s not quite enough for the acros.

100 par is right about 6000 lux with that Light.

Those are sweet lights.
