I’ve got a 180w 15k over my 4ft x 18D x18H.

I’ve got softies and fish (although they are currently in HT)

Hoping that somebody could help me with the settings I should be going for please?

I took some settings from a forum so I guess you'd say I have no settings at the moment.

Its a steadily brightening blue into white for the day then slowly going into blue into the evening and off at night.

I have a bit of a problem with brown algae at the moment, not sure if this was due to too much intense while light on my old unit.

That basically sounds like my settings. I am in the process of bringing my whites up but only change 1% a week, so it takes time. Not too sure how high I will go.

I have experimented with mine a bit and this is how it is at the moment.

P1 6:30am
W 0% B 1%
P2 12:00pm
W 67% B 100%
P3 3pm
W 67% B 100%
P4 8:30pm
W 5% B 45%
P5 10pm
W 0% B 20%
P6 11:30pm
W 0% B 0%

I keep 3 hours at peak from midday. My tank is mixed, but mainly LPS dominant. I do have some zoathinds and GSP, as well as varying montipora, from setosa to digi.

The main thing I learned was to change slowly. I was doing 1% a day and it's too much change in too short time period in my opinion and I noticed a negative effect on my coral.

Not sure about your brown algae issue, post a picture and what you percentages are at the moment and I'll let you know what I think.

When I was using a 160watt 16k version I used

TP1 08:00 Ch1 0% Ch2 0%
TP2 09:30 Ch1 25% Ch2 45%
TP3 12:00 Ch1 45% Ch2 65%
TP4 17:00 Ch1 45% Ch2 65%
TP5 20:30 Ch1 25% Ch2 45%
TP6 22:00 Ch1 0% Ch2 0%

This was on a mixed tank from sps/zoas/some lps. Standard 29 gallon tank. As I was getting more into sps I bumped the % of each channel by 20% over a months time. Be careful though, these lights will fry your coral if you go up too fast.
