first......welcome to R2R!

This is a great place as you will see.

I have the light you are asking about.

Its a great looking and performing light for the price!

Very underrated IMO.

Highly recommend the ICV6 for $45 buck to go with it. Much easier control and visuals using the app vs the onboard controls.

Check out my build thread below and you will find plenty of pics and videos with the lights.

Happy Reefing!

Don't have this specific light but have had several Maxspect products. Found that I was spending too much money replacing lenses, diodes wiring etc so eventually gave up on them. In my opinion, they work fine but are not as well made as many other options in that price range.

Thanks for welcome! I am looking forward to learning from everyone and can’t wait to get more involved.
I was reading in the specifications that the light is controllable through the apex controller. Do you need the ICV6 when you use the apex

It’s not controllable through the Apex other than a simple on/off. That’s what the ICV6 is for. It’s a stand alone setup.
Great, that is what I needed to know. I am definitely leaning toward this light. I am going to start a new build thread on my tank. Just remodeled a room in my garage and put in a door for a fish room/equipment room. So the tank build should start in the next couple of weeks.

I do not have that fixture, but as an LED aficionado I can say that this is an outstanding looking spectrum based on the lights in their clusters.

Thank you for the information. I am real new to this, have had African cichlids for years, but was limited on space and funds to start reefing. Didn’t really need to worry about lighting. But thanks to you guys I am learning tons.
