So I'm switching to LED's after 4 years of halides & high electric bills! After 2 full days of research& nonstop reading I think Im going with the Maxspect Razor 160w. I have a 46 bowfront & am currently running 2x250 w halides&2 39w t5's..
..I'm just wondering if anyone has pics they could share & anyone who owns one what your overall satisfaction level is. I am a little worried because I have that annoying center brace about shadowing.....any feedback would be greatly appreciqted.

There are alot of pics on another community forum. I got mine about a week ago and they are truly amazing, corals responding well colors are beautiful and the 2 channel dimmer offer so much spectrum you can go from a 10k to 20k with a turn of the dial. The 6 time points are great as it ramps up the color slowly not just uddenly go from 15 to 50%. The brace is annoying for some people but it doesnt have a giant effect. You could get 2 20 inch ones but most people stick with the 27. It is a brilliant light

Looking forward to getting it for sure...what size tank do you have it on?

And I did go with the 27" 16k.....if the brace is an issue I'll cut it out&replace it with clear acrylic....

Yeah I didn't wanna suggest cutting just in case but yeah arylic is the answer. My 16k is a bc 29 until my 40b is ready(this weekend), over the 40b it is perfect. complete spread no shadows, blazing light on the sand bed . Lots of folks using it on a 75g with a fraction shadowing in the top corners. I've seen a video of it on a 46g bow on youtube and you will be in great shape - huge par numbers everywhere

I just checked out your friends build, very nice, sps low down and still colored up. Those pics still don't do it justice though, no offense. I won't post any pics cos of my iphone makes it look a bit pooh

I already replaced a portion of it because I cracked it so I'm hoping that'll do.....I did a ton of research comparing PAR & from what I found for my tank in theory the razor will provide enough even at 21" deep.

I'm not sure becouse in most pics it looks like it barley covers a forty gallon breeder so how would it cover my 75 gallon?idk what to do.

My DIY for my 75 gallon cost me around $700 and came with a controller, Cree bulbs, and a fuge light! Full spectrum and corals look better than any commercial led lit tank that I've seen by far.

But there is no warinty or guarantee I think I could get the ai cheap since everyone is looking at new lights I guess I can sit back and wate a litle longer

I thought about the AI as well, a friend of mine has one...I ended up going with the razor for looks&it's more watts & from what I could find on line higher PAR values.....

Well I received my Maxspect Razor yesterday & all I can say is WOW! Colors look great on all my corals, I love the programming capability & the ramoing up & down is amazing....after seeing whats out there for the money this fixture is great...

I'll post some but let me apologize in advance....cell phone pics! And to be honest the pics don't do it justice.....

The one fts on top is with a higher blue and the one on the bottom is a whiter hue....as you can see the center brace is a PIA! I'm replacing it this weekend with clear acrylic to allow more light to shine through. The LED's have been on my tank for about a week now and I know that's not long enough to say one way or the other if their better or as good as my halides but as of right now Im a believer.
