Maxspect XF 230 or 250 GYRE PUMP

Hi, I'm not sure which option would be the best for my setup. I have a Redsea reefer 350 with a lot or rock work with a lot of soft corals. I'm not should which gyre size is best to go with . Is it better to go with one or two? Looking at the Maxspect XF 230 and the XF 250. I could also go with the Apex Wav Pumps. I'm just not sure what my best option would be.

I have a 120g which is 48in long. I have 2 250's on mine and never run them above 40%.

The Redsea Reeder 350 is about 1 inch shorter so maybe the 130's is a better option for me. I can run them at around 50% or so.

I have a 75 gallon with one maxspect 230 and two Tunze 6055. They are all on a pulse mode at 50 to 90% varying through the day. I will get a second 230 before too long. Flow is very important and you can always turn them down.

I strongly recommend getting two so you can run one one each side and have more variations in patterns. I think you’d be fine with two 230.

I have a 90 gallon and I went with two of the 230's. I would definitely recommend getting two of the gyre's so that you can link them and play with the flow patterns. I suspect you'll want the 250 but no matter which you choose I think you'll love the gyre's. I know I do.

Yea I was looking at the 250 but if I'm running them at 30% or so it would be an over kill. I can use the 100 dollars on some more corals

The first week it really bugged me because it was by a long way the loudest thing in my tank. I debated taking it out. Over the course of the next two weeks it got better and now a two months later it’s not an issue. I can still hear it, but it’s about the same level of sound as my skimmer (Vertex 150), but because it ramps up and down it’s a little more noticeable. Because I like the flow from it so much I’m willing to say I’m happy with it.

If your going to run the 250 only at 30% might as well going with the 230. But I would suggest going with the ice cap gyre same controller and work the same as the gyre And for support you have to use coralvue anyways and warranty issue Just my opinion. Have a great day

I run both mine at 100% but I have a 210 gallon and SPS Dominate Tank

48 x 24 x 20 tank, two xf230 is just enough.. can't go higher than 60% without a sand storm..
