So I just purchased my riptide and I'm looking for placement advice or ideas. My tanks odd shaped because I have duel corner overflows. It's a 5' long x 18" wide x 24" tall. So I have to mount it vertical. But where do I put it.... lol. Just looking for ideas.

I'd put it at either end kind of diagonal. Up at the top with the front end dropped enough so it fits in that 11". Could even try true diagonal with the front dropped even more. Vertical on the end could work but you won't get the strong return gyre. Going vertical I'd worry about dead zones behind your rocks.

If you only drop the end enough to fit it in pretty sure you would. Drop it more probably not.

Ah well I'll probably stay vertical Idk. Maybe I'll just keep my wp 40 in the back corner to keep good flow behind rocks.

So 2 ideas. Pump in back...... but will it make the gyre go around. Or... pump in front or side glass but than will it make it across back of rocks. Guess I'll find out Thursday when it arrives.

Just playing around with it is the only way to really tell. There are so many variables that it's really hard to predict how your tank will react with your rock.
