I also have two other pumps that put out 529gph. Should I run the maxspect at 70% and leave one of the 529gph pumps in or just run the xf230 by itself.

THere's never a good reason to remove a pump unless it's broken. More pumps is always better. Personally, I ran a pair of xf230's on my cube and they sucked. The 2' shape doesn't give them enough room to do their thing. IMHO. Run all 3 pumps. There's no such thing as too much flow -- Even my LPS and zoas love the 6000gph going on in my tank (45 cube)
