Maxspect Xf280 vs Mp40wqd

Hi guys !

I currently have a 180gal tank (72x24x24) with 2 mp40wqd vortechs running around 75% max with the WXM.
I have been thinking on changing to 2 Maxspect xf280 for better flow around my tank, I have seen and used them a little on friends tanks but the controller is a little complicated for me to understand how it works, other than that, I like the flow the give out.

The question is, would tyo guys recprecom me to change over to the Maxspect? I will use 2 xf280 on my tank to replace my vortechs, any hands on experience?

I see both brands for different needs.

If you want an recirc. pump to push the (flow) water up top / to the farthest wall / down / across the bottom and mid / and back to the other side of the tank.

Then, get an Gyre.

i have two 250 gyre on my 180 and they are plenty, blow sand everywhere. I want to get the icecap so i can connect to the Apex but i have them running ocean gyre at 50% using the maxspect controller right now with 2 WAV pumps on back glass.

I've had the old 130 for at least two years (for width cross flow) and it has been, rock solid.

I just soak it in vinegar for maintenance

having had both, the Gyre is significantly louder at high speed than the MP40QD, so consider that. If noise isnt a big deal, the Gyre was pretty sweet.
