I have a 125G (6 feet) reef tank that is very lightly stocked as far as corals. Currently I have a couple of blastos and a few hammers. I have Maxspect XF350 gyres installed horizontally on both ends. I have not been able to find settings in which the hammers flow gently. I either have to much flow and the hammers appear as though they are getting blasted or not enough flow and they don't appear to have much if any movement.

Does anybody have any tips or settings that's worked for them to get flow across the whole tank but not blast the corals?

TIA!

Are they in a vertical position then on the backwall?
I have four (4) gyres in total - all placed horizontally. The two Maxspect XF330s are on either side of the overflow (fixed, 20% forward) and the two Red Sea ReefWave45s are on either side of the tank facing inwards (random, 20-60%, 8min forward/2min reverse).

Not to disrupt the thread but which of the two pumps do you prefer?
I have 2 350’s horizontal on opposite ends at anti sync 30% on a 4’ 120

I had the same issues with my mixed reef tank with lot of Hammer and Frogspawn (now more SPS dominant).
This is what what for me on my 42" long redsea S400. I have 2 XF350 horizontally, the one on the LPS side is slightly lower than the other one by 2-3" and pointing more upward. I am running Pulse mode at 0.5sec. I have the LPS running at higher percentage as well so the glows crash in to each other at about 2/3 of the tank, over the SPS section and it helps create lot of flow there but gentle movements by the time they made it to the LPS side.
I also running Tunze Stream 3 6150 on the LPS end toward the SPS to create even more strong, random flow.
Hope it makes sense!
Not a very good picture (we are not home so this is from an Arlo Camer) but hopefully give you an idea, the LPS is lower right and the 3 pumps are circled.
