Okay. Who's got experience with the maxspect led lighting. I know most of you guys are dead set on t5 lighting but I'm sold on the look and program ability of the leds. Plus I got a great deal one a 160w light. It's going on my 150 tall. So yah 32" to my sand is a long ways. Idk give me some insight.

I star t ed mine out peaking at 20% and added 1 percent every three or four days. If I go above 49% my rastas start to bleach

Yah I figure I'll run it up slow atm I have 0 coral in my tank. Just fowlr but I'm gonna start adding some coral next month.

Haven't gotten anything at all yet. My lfs has actually been great which I know is odd. I go in there and talk about all kinds of stuff and they generally give me the same advice I get from researching for hours on forums. I always let my fish sit in there tanks for atleast 2 weeks before bringing them home and I now have room in my sump to quarantine stuff. I also have a maxspect nano in my refugium so I can do some stuff down there.

Thinking I'm gonna actually get some frags from bkoppes on here. High school buddy in return for me building him a acrylic sump refugium.

Cool. I have a great LFS as well. It just helps knowing what kind of lighting the corals are used too for initial placement. My LFS uses metal halides on all of his tanks. Everything I get from him does well in the middle of my tank. I picked up some frags from a guy that uses all T5 and placed them about 5 inches off of the bottom in my frag rack on the side and they were not happy to say the least. So acclimate things very low and move them up slow. I would give you my setting but I am still working things out. Trying to find the sweet spot.

Yah with this tank being 36" deep I'm gonna have a lot of experimenting to do with putting corals in. I'm wanting to get rid of the center brace that blocks light and build a brace from acrylic also. That's an idea that's making me nervous though cause I don't wanna drain my tank to do it. Thinking I can make it glue \ silicone it than cut the old brace out a few days after. Than pray I don't end up with 180 gallons of water on my floor!

I hear that. I have the 300w. 43" I think. The pucks aren't blocked by the brace so I am letting it ride. With 6 pucks I have three on each side of the tank

I just bought the 27" 160w off ebay. Used heck of a price. But the center pod will be right over the center brace. Ugh. Time to get crafty.

Yeah can't pass up deals in this hobby that is for sure. I got a 75 gallon tank, stand, trigger systems elite 30" sump, reactor, skimmer, and 2 return pumps, 1 6 bulb t5, one four bulb t5 and one 4 bulb power compact all 48" for some old army uniforms and 160 bucks in gas to get there and back

Sweet. I got the tank stand and a bunch of ***** old junk for 200 bucks. And now it's getting to be nice.

I'm regretting not drilling it also lol. But buying a house at some point. With the move I'll get it done.

I'm actually thinking about doing it myself by dropping the water 12" and installing the acrylic silicone it than drill let it sit 24 hrs and refill. Idk scarey.

Yeah. I would wait until the move. About the light. You will probably be able.to.run yours higher than I do. You have way more depth and will have more placement options to acclimate your corals

Problem only being the amount of $ I need to spend on rock lol. So hard to drop 100s on rock

Yeah I have been slow rolling the rock some dry some cured. I have about 70 lbs in my 55 and 20 to 30 in my 20 gallon. Prepped for the jump to my 75

Gonna buy a big piece of dry this week I think. I bet I got atleast 100 lbs in there and it looks like nothing lol.
