Hello and thanks in advance for the responses. So I got this purple tang about a month ago and he has been in QT with some black mollies for around a month now. It was poor timing but I had to jump on "rescuing" him right before we went on a two week vacation. He is eating well, but hasn't put on any weight. He gets fed as much as he wants - we give him nori and Larry's x2-3 times a day. He looks like he had a previous healed mild case of HLLE. (see some slight scarring along lateral line) However, when we returned from vacation I can't help but wonder that it kind of looks like he has flukes on him?

So I treated him Sunday 7/19 with Prazi, thinking this would remove them if it were flukes, then I was going to do another round. Today, when I was looking at him, it didn't seem like the spots (what I thought to be flukes were getting any better) So I FW dipped him earlier today and honestly I didn't see anything from the dip that really looked like flukes? I did find something, possibly, that came out during the dip. Keep in mind, he did poop as soon as I put him in the freshwater lol. I am thinking some sort of parasite? OR it's just not well digested nori... Either way I am not dying to put him in the display tank if he may have something wrong with him. I have attached the links to a couple of videos that show his poop (post prazi) and if you look closely along his belly and on his fins, it appears to be flukes, but again, I didn't see any come off during the dip, and they were on there post dip. I dipped him for 5 minutes and he didn't seem stressed, except for the poop! As I type this, he is eating more nori.

Immediately post FW Dip

Poop after first prazi - and possible flukes?

Parasite or partially digested nori lol

I can not see any signs of flukes however it is very hard to spot especially in a video. IMO the poop doesnt seem bad, I just seen a lot of it. No white is a plus!

It looks like food that wasn’t fully digested, I don’t see anything to worry about with that. I don’t see anything on the belly and fins on my end either.

These are blurry pics from my phone- maybe the spots can be seen here? If not, then it’s probably nothing and he’s just tired of being in QT

I can barely see some faint spots in the tail fin that look like ich possibly. If you don’t want to medicate and have another QT available, you could do tank transfer just in case it is a little bit of ich.

Yeah- for the life of me I cannot get a good picture of it... or else I would! Trust me. Well I’ll just treat him for ich to be safe. Thanks for taking a peek at the pictures and sorry for the crappy quality.

We had ich or velvet, or something that killed quickly, when the system was first set up, so now I’m a bit paranoid!
