So I’ve got a 180 gallon tank I’ve just set up that I bought used and it’s established. It’s gonna be fowlr for awhile. I’ve only owned nanos until now. It’s so hard to find fish stock locally And I may have jumped the gun. Right now it’s only got a bar goby and a very small juvenile sail fin tang. I really wanted to add a yellow eyed kole tang and a yellow tang at the same time but nobody had one locally. They’ve been in the tank for 4 days and now my lfs has a yellow and yellow eyed tang. I know tangs should be introduced together but I let the want get the better of me. If I added a yellow or a yellow and yellow eyed kole today or tomorrow would this be trouble? Even if I rearranged rock work? I’d hate for trouble to ensue

That’s big water with few fish, I think that would work.
Maybe a bit of territorial squirmish at first, but there’s enough water for each.
The issue might be the age of the tank. Both are big eaters (and poopers) and I would be cautious of an increase in nutrients., if your tank can’t process the increase, there’s a chance of ammonia spike, which may suffocate your fish. You could manage that by frequent water changes, good flow and skimming.

Thanks guys. I do have a skimmer and the tank was running for a couple of years. The live rock was kept in a 100 gallon rubber made tub to keep it live, but I’ll keep the stocking to a minimum until the bacteria build back up, in case needed. I got some fritz 9000 that I’ve been adding a little bit at a time to help keep bacteria established

Went ahead and made the plunge... they’re getting along like best friends. Before you mention quarantine, I buy from a reputable vendor who qt all stock
