may have slipped up with fish i got today

iv just got back from my 1st ever marine fish shopping for a new setup 6ft tank" have no corals yet as just gone through cycle! iv got my QT setup and fish in know!
The 2 fish I came back with are 2 dwarf angels Yes I know can be hit and miss with corals but guy at shop said these should be good if kept well fed!

thoughts on Bicolour angel ( has anybody done ok with these in there reef ? have read they can be fussy feeders

and other is tiny coral beauty iv saw in few reef tanks on sites

I’ve had a coral beauty for years with no issues. I’ve thought of adding a bi-color but was worried they would fight so I’ve passed on adding a second dwarf angel.

My coral beauty pays the coral no attention. And man the bi color is a beautiful fish! Ima try to keep both soon too

I'm not big on angels in a reef, any angel, over time depending what they may develop a taste for they usually always nip at something. Sometimes in a large enough tank and perhaps with corals not of interest, one may get a lucky. Mostly people just put up with a little nip here or there as long it is not their prize piece, and lie about the perfect citizen. It's tricky in your case because you added the fish first, they will likely be curious and interested in what you add to the tank. You may have to add corals after bedtime and try and be as covert as possible. My fish always investigate what I add to the tank.

would soft corals like leathers be better to add to tank that lps corals ? have read somewhere fish don't find them so appetising because a slime coat on coral

bicolors are one of the least reef safe dwarf angels, well fed or not

with two dwarfs i'd avoid meaty lps especially. probably zoas too

Fish are hit or miss in general. Reef safe fish can actually be not reef safe. I didn't realize it when I got it, but I later found out that a LT tang can nip at corals, but has always been labeled reef safe. This wouldn't mean much to me until i realized that every once and a while I do see a chunk taken out of my corals, whether its a sps or lps means no difference. All you can do is see what happens, hopefully everything turns out alright and you can just go on reefing.

What is the worse thing that can happen, you have another excuse to buy another tank, LOL!!!

I've never witnessed my coral beauty nip.

I've owned several flame angel's, coral beauty's, and currently an african flame back. They all nip to some degree(some more severe then others), but in all honesty kole tang(reef safe lol) nips at my SPS more then any angel has.

is there more none likely corals they will not bother? like toadstool leathers or hammers

iv not got any corals yet as new tank and could stock to not suit fishes taste buds

most tanks iv looked at with big and small angels are SPS acros
