Hi All

so ive ordered a reefer 525 and am looking to build a manifold like reefpkr has etc

i found this video

so just so i understand i guess.

The return pump is driving water to the reactors which in turn goes back into the sump? wouldnt this great an endless loop? and never return to the tank? or am i just being really stupid :)

There is usually a T in the line that feeds the tank and splits to the manifold. Edit I just watched the video and he has the end feeding the tank with the flex hose I think.

The flow through the reactors are quite low so while some water will return to the sump most will still go to the display. You'll need a bigger pump to handle the loss in pressure to the reactors and still have enough flow to the display.

I have my reactors pulling from my return chamber with the outlet running back to the return chamber. I’m running GFO and carbon and have no issues. PO4 is at .025. 120 DT with a 1700 gph return pump which is somewhere around 1200 gph actual I think. I wouldn’t be worried teeing off the return for your reactors as mentioned above the flow will be much much less than what you’re sending to the tank, ***if you have a big enough return pump.I would have done mine this way but I didn’t want to sacrifice the return volume. When I replace that pump I will go with a bigger pump that will accomplish what you’re trying to do.

ahh ok! i am going to buy an L2 vectra i think which will be more than enough for a 525 reefer
