Well I think I have cyano? Maybe diatoms? But I’m dealing with it, however it got me wondering if my flow is correct? Right now I have a jebao scp90 gyre I tried in the back corner aiming diagonally and now on the side shooting straight across. Can’t get good a good picture of rock work so you’re all going to be blessed with my wonderful artwork! MP’s are a bit out of my price range right now, so I was thinking about current eflux. Tank is 21 high 21 wide and 18 front to back. Do I have enough flow? Should I switch to eflux? If so, what gph and where?

LOL a picture of the tank would be so much more helpful than a drawing.

not sure if the red strings are cyano or just algae? phosphates are about .25 nitrates are about 10

I know I know lol I'm sorry! I wasn't home initially then holidays etc... but just got a video up.

I'm not a gyre guy myself, but I think they are typically mounted a bit closer to the surface maybe??? Hopefully someone else can jump in and confirm or not.

if I go any higher at this flow rate I push water right over the other edge. However I did buy a few current eflux pumps, two 1050 and one 660 that I can swap and/or add. not planning on keeping anything hard, mainly soft and hardy lps, trying to stick with "beginner corals"

Another idea is to add another gyre and run one as a slave/master?

I guess I wouldn't think a 21" wide tank should need 2, but again, no first hand experience. Someone else will chime in soon hopefully.

I probably wouldn't run more than one gyre in a 21" tank. I run mine about 4" from the surface. If you're finding this is causing water to splash over the sides then you've probably got them set to high.

I guess my biggest question, is this enough flow? Or should I add/ change before more coral comes in?
