I have posted about this before and got some good info on it possibly being brook. I haven't done anything yet because I haven't been able and the fish has never showed any other signs. I have a qt about ready to go now though. So, here it is. I have 2 clowns. This first picture was taken on July 17

those white spots lasted a couple days then went away and he has been fine since. Now this picture was taken August 21

so they came back and today they are gone. Its only been on the same clown and he hasn't shown any other symptoms other than the spots. So do you think ich? I

I don’t believe that’s ich. The dots are to uniform but in this hobby things are surprising! Are you seeing any flashing or scratching? How’s your water quality? I would keep an eye on him and keep water quality pristine!

No - that isn't ich. Looks more like VERY early stage Brooklynella, but I've never seen a chronic case of that, it always flares up and becomes acute, often even with treatment. How long did the spots stay this second time?

Nice looking clowns - were they wild caught? How long have you had them? I'm counting 10 dorsal spines, so I'd say true perc!

The fins look to good for it to be ich normally with that much on the body the fins would be showing dots that look like grains of salt but the fins look clean

No flashing or anything. If it wasn't for those spots you wouldn't know anything. Always eats great and never acts differently. Water quality is good.
Temp 79 sg 1.025 ph 8.3 ammonia 0 nitrites 0 nitrates 5. This is the second time he has gotten this. About 5 weeks apart. I did treat with prazipro after the first time.

The spots only stay for a few days maybe 3 or 4 at least visible to me.
Got them at lfs so idk where they came from

Agree on Brook and start with freshwater bath and FW bath each day if necessary. Ruby rally bath which contains formalin should help

Does brook come and go like that with no other symptoms? And can I use ruby rally in dt?

Rally is reef safe and I have used in mixed reef display. Treat at 80% of recommended dosage

So I wouldn't need to quarantine? Just dose dt? How many times?
No need to QT I personally wouldn’t dose it in the tank. Just pull fish give him about a 90 min bath then put back into display.

Thanks for the replies. I was about to just treat in qt and let dt go fallow for 76 days to take care of everything :D

Thank you for you help. If I did the bath then qt, should I treat with anything in qt? And how long should i keep in qt? Should I do it to both clowns to be safe?
You can run low level copper or continue with formalin based treatment

Ya know, the more I think the more I'm thinking about just treating in qt/ht and leaving dt fallow for 76 days just to fix anything possible. If I need to quarantine for like 6 weeks anyway, whats another month:)

It's just weird that if its brook, it hasn't done anything else or killed him by now. This is the second outbreak about 5 weeks apart and the only symptoms are white spots.
