Hey guys I have been thinking about upgrading my current USA strip lights to the new ai blades. I was wondering what kinda of tips or suggestions you have for switching lights with as minimal shock to the corals as possible

Ideally you want to get a hold of a par meter and try to adjust par and spectrum to match the old lights, then slowly increase over time.

What is the best way to get a par meter. I looked them up and they are very expensive for pretty much a one time use

Yeah... I recently upgraded from Current USA LOOP IC to (3) Hydra 32s.

I started the lights at just 10% and brought the intensity up 10% every week.

You can usually rent one from a lot of the good LFS......or maybe somebody else local in the hobby has one that you can borrow?

Did you have any issues with coral stress?

Yes. The first time, I raised the intensity too quickly and the stress to the corals was apparent.

I placed everything back under the LOOP ICs for about 10 weeks and allowed them to bounce back.

Then I put them back under the Hydras and did intensity increases of 10% per week.
