Hey everyone been battling (at this point for a month and a half) what I am not sure is even ICH at this point. And I cannot figure out what it is. Its life cycle is very strange

DISCLAIMER: yes I know about QT and Cooper treatement.

So in the morning my light comes on. My Gramma seems to be affected the most I suppose which is ironic because I have a tomini tang. However in the morning he showed barely any signs of it, (white spots) so I'm thinking great they are fighting it off. Then in the evening I didn't get home until late due to work, and I need to turn the light from blues back to whites to feed them a second time. So after doing that of course the fish come out. Once they do, the Gramma is absolutely peppered on WHat I thought i was ICH. So okay, no problem, it was probably the parasites normal life cycle.

I go to bed and repeat my day. The light turns on and I go to feed as normal and I see the Gramma again. All those white spots I saw maybe 8 hours ago, gone again? Like what the heck. I know cryptocaryons life cycle is not THAT quick. Can someone shine some light on what the heck is going on? All my fish including the Gramma are eating like fat pigs which is good too but I have no idea what this is, they are flashing and scratching as well

Thanks

Its been happening to me too lately in my 150g.
Spots will just show up then disappear on my emperor angel(my profile pic)
I just live with it. Trying to get rid of ich is impossible IMO.

Honestly I'm really starting to believe that, I mean **** man, I was reading from people earlier about saying that they quarantined for 6 months with tank fallow for 6 months to be sure and within 2 days of the fish being back they go ICH. Like what the heck. I mean at that point it's getting ridiculous to do. For the record I don't disagree with it, it just seems for most results vary. But I guess nothing is concrete at this point.

Was your angel scratching as well? How are managing and living with it out of curiosity?

Well, me and my father are both in the hobby together, and the fish that brought the ich was a sohal tang
that my dad couldn't resist buying it so... Absolutely blew my tank up with ich in 3 days. We had no idea what to do and my lfs said to just overfeed and medicate the entire tank, BULL! Did that for 2 weeks and ended up killing about 1500$ worth of fish ( including the sohal)! We had no choice but to make a 60g qt and medicated with coper power. Did qt for about 5 months, then put the surviving fish back into the DT. Not even 1 day went by, and the fish had ich again. I gave up by this point. Honestly, if you dont want to kill your fish, just live with it. My emperor angel is doing great, but does have some ich on him currently. Im more successful not trying to stop the ich, then when I was trying too!

dang man I'm sorry for your loss and sorry to hear that. I feel ya, we care for our pets and immediately want a fix. It sucks but hey we are all in it together. I appreciate your insight and advice. I am sure we can get through by just feeding them lots and doing our water changes. I appreciate the honesty as well. I know everyone has a hard on for QT but I've read so many conflicting things.

Did everything in the book to fix it, but its all just a "maybe it will work" type of thing. Good luck to you;)
