Hi folks, looking for some help here. I have a maze coral that looks to be dying. I have shown a photo below. Is there anything I can do to save it? My parameters are 250litres, salinity 1.026, ammonia, nitrite etc are 0. Calcium 420, PH 8 and Nitrate around 10-20. Cheers in advance.

Nope, thats fine.Could your shrimp be picking at it? I had a cleaner shrimp tear the mouth out of a coral, killing it

Maze corals are very difficult to keep long term. They need low flow and medium to low light. They do not like leathers (I see yours is fairly close). They also need nutrients in the water and they like being fed. Usually in the middle of the night.
I have kept some for over 5 years to then just have them waste away. I have had small frags stay with me years, never really get much bigger and then just fade too. Currently have one going on 3+ years and it is out, fluffy, colorful, but still not growing.
Not easy corals. At least not most.

I feed my fish frozen food daily, and target feed the corals and clam a few times a week. I’ve also a fairly healthy copepod population in the tank. Once they are on the way out is there anything can be done for them? Should I move it further down in the tank? Thanks for all the replies folks

I’ve never seen the shrimp at any of my corals, he’s generally pretty well behaved :)

Agree …. not an easy coral to keep. Low flow and lower light as already noted. I keep mine on the sand bed. Also may be getting nibbled on?
