So I bought a male flasher wrasse and a small juvenile female. For some reason the male didn’t acclimate well ( i read a few threads about peoples wrasses faking dead and breathing fast on bottom of tank) … apparently mine wasn’t faking and next day ended up being crab and urchin meal. Now with a juvenile female is there a chance she will become male ? Was thinking of maybe getting another to keep a pair

The only thing stopping a juvenile or female from becoming male is another male bullying it. So it should change.

Don’t attempt a pair. In captivity, any wrasse from Cirrhilabrus and Paracheilinus WILL always become male. This will last in the fight to the death in most cases.
Halichoeres, Macropharyngodon, Anampses are all less likely to become male if there is a more dominant species in the tank.
