I am qting a lemon butterfly, and two male McCoskers wrasses. I got them Thursday from live aquaria. They were eating Friday.

My qt protocol for this round of fish is ttm with nfg for the first 7 days. Also 7 days of metro infused food.

The qt matched sg of live aquaria and was brought up each day by the 25% wc required by the nfg. On my first transfer the salinity was at 1.021 and I forgot to dilute the second tank. So they went from 1.021 to 1.025. To big of a jump. I realized my mistake this morning when I was testing salinity and observing!

This afternoon one of the wrasses had white stringy poo and it was laying on the bottom. It keeps itself weighted but just sits at the bottom. If you bump him he darts off. Hes not gasping for air or breathing rapidly. He's in a trance almost. He is now ignoring food.

The other male McCoskers and the butterfly are active, eating, and appear happy with non stringy poop.

Is the metro killing the parasite and making the fish ill? Is this shock from the rapid salinity change?

Any advice?

Sounds like he didn't tolerate that salinity > all that well. The white stringy poop obviously means he's got intestinal issues. Keep treating him. Treat the water column and provide a stable environment since he's not eating at the moment. Then maybe he'll come around.
