I'm planning to order a Mccoskers wrasse, and was looking at live aquaria. They currently have one listed with origin of Sumatra. I'm in no rush, and can wait for a fish from another origin. So my question is if you had the choice, between the locations listed by live aquaria- Africa, Sumatra, or Bali- which would you choose and why?
I'm very interested in if collection methods vary much between these choices and if one is more ideal for that reason, but any reasons you have would be interesting to me.

Thanks!

Following. Interesting question and I have wondered the same. I’ll be getting a McCosker in a few weeks.

The Kenyan variant has a black tail, Bali and Sumatra do not, and they will likely be described as a separate species.

I haven't found much of a difference in how these different regions mckoskers come in.

You should keep an eye on Divers Den. They tend to post McCoskers almost daily. You'll get a sense of what you like the best. I will say they will post some awesome examples but also some not so awesome ones. Just wait and the right one will come along.
