Can I run my meanwell dimmable with a nine volt battery instead of using the rapidled dimmer kit or is there another way. Thanks for any advice.

No, won't work. One LED would turn on for a determined amount of time, but thats it.

What do you mean run your meanwell driver and which driver? Are you just trying to supply your dimming channel voltage? Or are you trying To power the whole thing? I've used a 9 volt battery connected to a transistor and my arduino to control the pwm dimming channel on my p driver and didn't have any problems, now I just use the 5 volt pwm signal from my controller with no issues.

It's the elm-60-27d dimmable with a pot and 10v power supply but I think it can be run straight with a 9v battery.

Short answer is you can....
But I don't understand what exactly are you trying to do:
1. Get away from using the whole RapidLed pot set up by supplying 9v from a battery to the dimming ports on the driver? Yes you can and you won't be able to dim and your driver will operate at 90% output.
2. Get rid of the supplied 10v power supply and using the battery instead? Yes you can. You will be able to dim, using the pot but only to 90% as the 100% output requires 10v dimming signal.

No I actually forgot I can run two pots off of my 10v Power supply I just upgraded from one driver to two so I can run the blues for sunrise/set and the rest of the spectrum in the middle if the day. Thanks for the help. Actually I and using 2 double a battery so it's not at 90% it's about 30. Until this weekend ill have time to wire the other pot into my project box.

Josh, if you are going to be at the Space Coast Reef Conference, I can give you some 9v or 12v "wall wart" transformers.

Thanks choppers I will be working the conference.
