So I know the golden rule is to keep hands out as much as possible, but sometimes they got to go in. I'm a jet engine mechanic, and get covered with oil and fuel almost daily. I'm afraid that I will always have something leaching out of my hands even when two to three days pass without being exposed to chemicals.
What do you guys do to keep your reef safe? Special soaps, aquarium gloves, ect...?

I work in a lab with various chemicals and solvents and crude oil. I was initially worried about it but all I do is make sure I rinse my hands well before they go in the tank. Have not run into problems so far. I also run carbon on the tank 24/7 as an insurance.

Talking about the yellow dishwasher kind? Think I've seen them at home depot before

I ordered my glove's from Aquarium Specialty .
They weren't the orange and blue one they split at the seams .
These are all blue with no seams

I don't know if it's legit, but I'm a sucker for gimmicks, and I use Reef Suds. My kid has eczema so I constantly have some sort of cream or petroleum based products on my hands at night (also happens to be when I want to work on my tank). If nothing else it is an awesome soap that washes away everything so far.

I work at an automotive shop and wash my hands after work with that orange grease remover stuff. Then when I get home I take a shower and have never had a problem

After i wash my hands with soap in the sink with tap water, i wash them again with ro water and no soap with the ro drinking spout in my sink. If i dont need soap, i just rinse with ro only.

Auto restorer here so, grease, oil , paints, thinners , reducers, strippers, you name it. I try to wear gloves at work to minimize the really bad stuff but otherwise a good scrub with soap and a nail brush followed by a plain water rinse. So far so good.

Thanks for the input guys. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't any problems with others tanks due to chemicals. I pretty much do everything you guys do minus the gloves in the tank. I have seen that reef suds and wanted to look into it.
