Media bag or should I diy something....

what does everyone prefer, media bags are easy and fast but I'm thinking some like of DIY box or container from egg crate might look a lot better... In my newest setup, I'm using Seachem Matrix over a bunch of live rock so it looks more professional like the setups I see on here.

I use a bag (2). I have also used a reactor when I carbon dosed. Could you explain what you mean by using an egg crate?
