Hey there, I have sponge , seachem phosguard
filter floss in one, sponge , filter floss and purigen in the other, I use the sponge on top of each one cause I don't like the sound of trinkling water

I change the filter floss once a week and sponge at the same time and I forgot I have seachem matrix in one ( just added) so scratch filter floss in both

Seachem matrix was highly recommended to me from some members here. Are you going to use any of your sponges?

No sponges. Not a fan of them. They get nasty quick and cause problems. I just swap the floss every 2 days or until I see its dirty

I'm not crazy about them either but I hat the trinkling sound of water

Put the filter floss on top in the back, that should work

Ok a question on the back chambers,I had a question in one of these threads about best recommendation on a skimmer. I stated that I was setting up the JBJ 45 and fixing the stand so later on I could buy a sump. So what skimmer would work for me. I talked back and forth with coralvue rep who suggested I go with a icecap PK K2-50 skimmer, and a icecap cube sump. I bought the skimmer and getting ready to start but the skimmer does not fit all the way down in the far outside chamber, not at all in the inside chambers. So I was wondering if I could put it into the middle chamber? I'm not running two pumps only one? ( I upgraded) so I have room in the. My heater would go in in one chamber along with my probes. And I will have the media baskets in the two outside chambers. I'm not upgrading baskets yet I just want to start the cycle using the Red Sea mature Pro kit ( which requires live rock and skimmer) please say yes folks
