Media in sump

So, I am starting to set up my new tank and a sump. Then I thought, what media should i put in the sump for a new reef aquarium???

Ceramic media? carbon? or something else?

Any suggestions?

I run bricks in my sump, mostly because I had them from my prior tanks, I do not think they are a requirement if you have plenty of rock. I also run carbon 24/7. If you have room you could look into doing a fuge
