So I just bought a Multi Media Readtor MF-800B for my C VUE 40 gallon tank. My CVUE is a all in one tank. I hooked my media reactor up and the water that goes back into the sump starts kicking up waste that is in it. That waste then gets sucked up by my pumps and shot back into the display making the water cloudy. I kinda want to pick people’s brains on this. Should I just let my reactor run and eventually all the stuff it kicks up with the return water will settle on its own. Should I attach the return water into one of my power heads. Or should I just have the return water go right into main tank. Or if their is something else I am missing. Attached is my set up currently. Don’t mind how bad the set up looks for right now.

Is that phosguard?

If it is kicking stuff up, it might be a good idea to vacuum/siphon the rear out. I have to do this every once and a while as I have 2 massive turbo snails in my refugium. Sometimes I put a filter pad before the sump return pump chamber and purposefully kick up crud to get caught by it. If the rear are is very dirty, you may want to improve your mechanical filtration.

Is the media similar to chemi pure or carbon where it’s recommended to run for a few mins externally prior to adding discharge hose to tank ?

Yea it’s Phosguard. I plan on cleaning back chamber out. I do not have filters socks but the intake media baskets in the slot

Yes. Basically the same thing

So I came up with a very simple solution for the return causing everything to kick up. I just put filter floss in front of it and that seems to have done the trick.
