Alright guys, Ive got a couple questions!

1.) I currently have both carbon and GFO, Im unsure of what to run in my media reactor. (Its huge, following the directions on the GFO package it does not seem like nearly enough?) Do I run a mixture of both? Just one or the either? It's been set up for about a month now running the recommended starting dose. (I've been really preoccupied with moving and change of job so Ive sort of neglected the tank #dang)

2.) I have no idea how far apart the sponges should be set, if I place them closer together it seems like a huge waste of space and spreading them further apart seems like it wont do anything for what its meant to.

Some advice would be much appreciated.

Tank info : 30 gal display, 20 gal sump, AquaTop Multimedia Reactor MR30

I run both for these reasons:
1. I have a heavy bio-Load. I creates a yellow/green tint to my water. I use ROX8 in the top of my reactor to clear the water.
2. My Po4 is high due to heavy feeding. I run the high capacity GFO,I highly recommend, in the bottom of my reactor. I have a sponge between them so my GFO tumbles and my ROX8 stays tight.
My reactor is a BRS 5".
Hope this helps:)

Thanks for the reply! Getting better at this hobby. Loaded a bag of carbon and stuck in the filter sock sump. I fixed my GFO reactor with the right amount and made sure it was tumbling. Currently still having algae problems when my water is clean. Getting frustrated
