Let me know if this works. Carbon will be slightly compressed and gfo will be lightly tumble. I will use filter floss and sponge to prevent the fine particles coming out of the reactor into the tank. Thanks

I don’t see how the GFO will tumble that way. To me they are best in separate reactors but maybe someone who runs them together will chime in.

If someone who tried it this way and won’t work I will just put carbon in a panty hose and throw it in the sump.
 
I mixed carbon and gfo together, put them in a panty hose then drop it in the reactor. This method will prevent the gfo become solid form easily. I though my method was not sufficient but based on the BRS and some reefers are doing the same but without the panty hose.
 
I take it we want gfo to tumble to prevent it becomes solid but if we mix it well with the carbon, there’s no need of tumbling.
