Hi. I have a small media reactor for my all in one tank. The tank cannot fit a skimmer, and I wanted to avoid a HOB one. I was wondering if there is a media that can be used to make the reactor essentially run like a skimmer? Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately not. Your best bet if it's simply a small tank would be to focus on regular water changes. A skimmer is a helpful tool, but in no way is a necessity for a successful tank. However, be sure you also focus on oxygenation with the lack of a skimmer (powerhead ensuring adequate gas exchange at the surface).

Sounds good thanks.

Also, if you set up the media reactor, I suggest a mix of carbon and 1/3 gfo. You won't want this mix to tumble, but if changed regularly, it should help with phosphate and water clarity. You'll still need to do regular water changes for nutrient export, but it will help if you have algae growth/yellowing of your water.
