Who uses single reactor for gfo l/carbon


How do u have it staged

I did when I had a big tank, but to be completely honest, I didn't see much change in the tank when I shut it down.

Now I have two 40g aio tanks and only use filter socks!

You do want to stage it. The carbon will grind up the gfo otherwise. Play around with it a bit. The gfo should be tumbling lightly. You can always just put the carbon in a sock in the sump.
