Medicated tanks at LFS affecting QT time?

This may be different here in Canada since it seems that all our fish undergo at least one more transfer than they do in the US, as most move from US distribution to Canadian distribution centres, but my LFS gets fish from medicated tanks and has medicated display tanks.

Additionally they keep salinity between 1.013 and 1.015. Would this affect the QT time you need in your home?

I have a Sapphire Damsel and a Foxface in my QT right now, both look great, both eating well and I'm slowly ramping salinity up to 1.026. Would you reduce the QT time given the amount of time they've already been medicated and kept in hypo, or still go a full 30 days?

I'm not medicating my QT at the moment, as noted in other threads Canadian medications for fish are basically impossible to get due to regulatory changes right now. I do have PraziPro, Pimafix and Melafix on hand though.

I generally discard any treatment claims that happen before I get a fish. Often the levels of copper or hypo I've found are just enough to suppress a disease, not really to treat. Proper hypo is 1.08-1.09SG. Ramping salinity back up to standard is one of the first things I plan for, so I can properly see what's going on. If anything, this would lengthen the time, since you want to see how the fish does in normal, unmedicated conditions.

I'm lucky to have found a bottle of cupramine and some prazipro that still has 2 years before it expires. Not sure what I'll do about that once they run out, but I'm set for the moment. I may switch to longer observation periods so I only need to medicate if I actually have a reason to.
