Can I start off by saying how awesome this forum is?!? I’ve learned SOOOO much. Soo much that it’s left my head spinning. The main issue is this: I live in Canada (Ontario specifically) and the people running my Province have decided that the general public cannot be trusted with real over the counter fish meds

So. Questions.

NFG v Paraguard.
I can’t get NFG. Can I use Paraguard instead? Also, can Paraguard be used with Copper?

The trusted trifecta (Kanaplex, Metroplex, Furan-2). I can only get Kanaplex and even that may be difficult. Can I use Melafix and Pimafix instead? Also, I know they can be used together, but can they be used with copper?

Paraguard contains reducing agents that can make the copper more toxic.

Kanaplex would be worth trying to get. Good all around antibiotic.
Can you get Ruby Reef Rally? Good all around bath and treatment for a variety of situations.

Not sure about reef rally. I definitely want a bath option. Was thinking metha-something Blue. Can’t get that either

I believe there are laws against that but I’m getting conflicting info. Worth further investigation for sure. Would hate to have the shipment confiscated at the border.

I had some success using melafix and pimafix to guard against secondary infections while using copper to treat velvet. Many people here have said that the concentration of the oils used are no where strong enough to actually treat any infections present, but for me it seemed to help protect against them forming. As @Frtdrmrose7 mentioned above, if you know anybody states side they could pick it up and ship it to you.

Found a wonderful site that sells out of the US but ships to Canada only issue is this: they carry individual meds, not the name brands. For example, no PraziPro but they have praziquantel powder, no Kanaplex but they have Kanamycin and so on. All comes w instructions and doses. Any experience w using just active ingredients?
