Medicinal Potency When Heated

I’ve always heated up water to dissolve certain treatment before administering to my tank. In this case I boiled some water to mix interceptor (milbemycin oxide and praziquantel) before dumping this into my tank. I never thought about this until now, but can the boiled water reduce the potency of the medicine?

Yes, yet can degrade some meds. How much depends on the chemical. I would not heat this one. There is an ester bond that may break.

The MSDS sheet on praziquantel says it's semi flammable at about 110 degrees. Which is fun.

Darn it, I put this in about 160F degree water

That msds says vapor at like 120. How much did you breathe in and did it make you feel weird? Asking for a friend.

There was no vapor. I just heated water up and threw the tablets in and mixed it up. The water was hot but not boiling
