i just found out my tang is keep scratching his body on rocks and also see some whiteish spot on my yellow watchmen goby. It looks very thin and kinda black parasite on watchmens body but overall all of them looks healthy and eating well. For this kinds of external parasite, do i use cupramine from seachem? or paraguard? It seems like theres so many medicines out there. Please give me a good advice! I also have a QT tank for fish only.

I see your previous post. I suggested prazipro there but if you’re seeing white as well it could be a combination of things. How big is the white spot? Got any pics. That would really help

Can you post a clear picture? It's difficult to say what medication would work best in this case, seeing a picture might help.

I just uploaded some pictures. My tang doesnt have any symptoms or discoloration other than scratching his body to rock. I think it was doing that for several months but other than that all of them are healthy

API General Cure might be something to try - it may help with the tang scratching (flukes) and it might help with this goby's discolored area (if it is from a protozoan or a few bacteria). The only thing it won't really help with is if it is bacterial, then you would need to dose with an antibiotic.

i already bought cupramine. Will that work too? or should i get another api general cure?

Cupramine will really only help with protozoans, not flukes or bacteria. You can do the Cupramine, and then, if the symptoms don't get better, try the GC.

what would be ur best solution? Buy api general cure or cupramine? or do both treatment? I think tang might have ich but gobys discoloration is from something else such as fluke or bacteria. I also have two clown fish in the tanks but they seems to be not affected by any of those parasites.

If the tang has ich, it would have white spots like grains of salt, does it look like that? If not, I would go with the GC. If it has ich, you need to treat that with copper. You can treat with both at the same time, but it is safer to pick one over the other to treat with first.

Another option to treating both ailments at the same time is tank transfer method and dosing GC. While doing methylene blue dips between transfers. That is if you have ich...

I dont see any white spot. I will treat with gc first and if theres no improvements then i will go with copper.
