This week marks my first complete year in the reefing hobby, I have Fluval EVO 13.5 and this will show my progress over its first year. I learned a lot and faced some challenges but I am very happy with where my tank is now and excited to keep going in this hobby.

I'll start with where my tank is today and my equipment/maintenance schedule.

Later that month i got my first Acro!

In October when my tank hit the 3 month mark i got a bad case of Dinos!

I was able to clean it out without loosing anything by dosing Hydrogen Peroxide (.1ml/day) and doing a 3 day blackout.

By December my tank had mostly stabilized and things started to grow

I have had a couple issues some of which I think were born out of impatience and lack of understanding:
-Lost an Acro Frag to STN, i don't think my tank params where stable at the point
-Lost the chalice coral which i think was placed to close to the torch coral
-My scoly is currently not doing well, I have been doing my best to save (lower light and flow) but its not working and I fear i will lose it.

Really good job on the reef!! I made the same mistake with my acropora and a hammer :(

very nice tank! thanks for the thread I am a sucker for tank progression threads I find it so...amazing? the progress and transformation always wow me.

+ I am thinking of this very tank so it was extra interesting.
keep up the good work.

How is the tank doing? Can you post a picture that shows the light and the RMS on the tank? I am setting up the same tank and am unsure what light to use. I already have a RMS and a G3 but am think the look overpowers the small tank.

Hello, i have the same tank and powerhead. Im curious as to why the return pump and powerhead on same said? Always learning for sure
