2 month old, 75 gal tank, 20 gal sump, 10 gal fuge. This morning I found 2 pink medusa worms in my fuge. They had to come in on my cheato, at least that is where I found them. From everything I have read, if I found them in my DT, I would take them out. However, there is little chance they will make it to my DT, so I would like to keep them. Am I being foolish?

I just had a nightmare with Medusa worms. Ripped my whole 200G system apart. It's your choice to make but they are not welcomed to my reef.

Were they in your DT?
I had them in both. Not sure how they entered. Maybe Chaeto as well for me.
started off with one visible Medusa Worm. Ended up with hundreds. This picture is just a few I plucked out manually. But ended up having to rip my 750 apart. Here are before, during and after pictures. They were a literal nightmare.

I give. The next time I looked(30 minutes later) I had 6. I'm thinking this is not good. I had a football size clump of cheato so I started looking through it. Found 6 more. Goodbye. Now I have a baseball size clump. Going to keep an eye on my fuge to make sure there are none left. It's a shame, they were interesting and eating good.

By the way, mine were a quarter of the size of yours.
Mine started off small. And only one visible one. Here is a picture of the first I saw. They grew big and fast. Super fast as multiplying. Great for a clean up crew with the downfall that they release toxin’s when threatened or killed. I had various mysterious fish deaths from perfectly healthy fish and from what I can tell they were the cause.

I did pull all my cheato to check. It was time to harvest anyway. The cheato was really growing. One of the little buggers stung me in the thumb. Hopefully the worms were too small to reproduce yet. They were a little larger than your last picture. Thanks
