Meet my new Sea Hare Monster!

So, I have been wanting a sea hare to help my with algae control in my Fluval M90 that is new out of fallow. LFS has been sold out but got some new specimens in this week. Saw this Monster and was able to grab it for $20!

Anyone know which hare it is? Already seems to be at home and munching on the hair algae. First time I've ever had one, it is a very interesting creature.

Yup, discussed with LFS and know we'll have to switch to algae wafers and/or Nori once it gets close to eating it all.

Hey can you update us on your Sea Hare? They definitely devour GHA quickly, but they seem to either have low life span or are very sensitive to something. Others have expressed the same issue. I am almost wondering if it has to do with the contaminated Pro Marin salt, but no idea. Still phasing out the water from the contaminated water change we did.

Looks like a California sea hare (Aplysia californica), more of a cool water temperate species.

They will not survive long on algae sheets, etc as they intake literally many hours. Trade it in or sell when clean up is accomplished
