Meeting Feb 23rd?

@Ry0n I have, and lots of micro bubbles when I turn off the skimmer (seems backwards but it is what happens).
How powerful is your return pump? Is it a variable speed pump? Can you reduce the turnover rate? It sounds like you have too much flow coming down your drain. A high turnover/drain speed into a small sump often causes excessive micro bubbles. Your skimmer might be taking up some of your micro bubbles. However, I did not notice micro bubbles in your tank during the club meeting...

The Richsrd Ross video really hits home, I have bee traveling for the last 2 weeks and my wife has no idea how anything works. Doesn't want to learn

I made sure the skimmer stayed on the whole meeting.
You make a good point about the turnover though. That may be the problem. I have close to 10 times turnover.

Yeah. I have tried very hard to be “The right kind of lazy”.
When I get bit by something I didn’t think of, I try to put some programing and/or sensor in place to keep it from happening again.

Quick question - the green birdnest I got at the meeting has been doing well. But a day or so ago an astraea snail was on it briefly. Since then the spots where the snail crossed it have not had any polyp extension and look white. I'm assuming that's all normal and just give it a few more days? Perimeters in the tank are all good. Other corals look good. Water change was done this morning. (Sorry it it's a dumb question - I've never had any sps)

Only dumb question is the one not asked

This is only my guess, but the snail might have been cleaning up decaying tissues. The stress of moving can cause a part of an SPS to stress out and recede.

@Andrew Wulff I am with @Tomoko Schum that the snail isn’t why the tissue receded. Sometimes parts of it will recede for a bit then come back a couple hours later. If it stays receded for a day then I would be looking at either stress from moving or more likely something eating it. A fish or peppermint shrimp maybe?

attempting to upload a pdf of my autotopoff.

Upload probably won't work.

But if it does here's FYI and looking for feedback.

plan to have some type of discussion/demonstration tomorrow at meeting.
Warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I re visited the ato in this post and the theory and circuit are all wrong. I will post updated and hopefully correct version later. God is not done with this engineer yet. I can't believe I used this for two years and it worked. LOL Hopefully noone actuall build this and used it.
